"The Ming dynasty becomes a battleground for the Brotherhood of Assassins and the Order of the Templars in this blockbuster action novel from a previously unexplored part of the beloved Assassin's Creed universe.

China, 16th century. The Assassins are gone. Zhang Yong, the relentless leader of the Eight Tigers, took advantage of the emperor's death to eliminate all his opponents, and now the Templars hold all the power. Shao Jun, the last representative of her clan, barely escapes death and has no choice but to flee her homeland. Vowing to avenge her former brothers in arms, she travels to Europe to train with the legendary Ezio Auditore.

When she returns to the Middle Kingdom, her saber and her determination alone will not be enough to eliminate Zhang Yong: she will have to surround herself with allies and walk in the shadows to defeat the Eight Tigers."

Assassin's Creed Valhalla Graphic Novel

redo1.jpg

Glénat Editions will soon be publishing a new Assassin's Creed Valhalla graphic novel, following the success of their web comic that launched November 2020 (French), which followed Eivor raiding a monastery.

(Chronicles Category)

"Glénat Editions' original graphic novel will be arriving in France this fall, giving readers a chance to uncover the tale of an aspiring Assassin and a Christian monk as they travel from Ravensthorpe to the mystery-filled heights of Scotland." (GameInformer)

As the story will act as a spin-off from the events of Assassin's Creed Valhalla with new characters and stories, it's fair to assume for now that it can be considered canon.

Although the graphic novel is set to launch this Fall in French, it may also be released at a later date in other languages.

More information coming soon.

The interview also clarified a new system of categorising stories published under the Assassin's Creed umbrella that is now being used internally by Ubisoft and its publishers.

  • Classics are direct adaptations of video games.

  • Chronicles feature new stories with returning Assassins.

  • Originals offer all-new protagonists and time periods.

"The only creative input we gave to that project was we wanted three writers working on three different settings and focusing on the young adult trope of siblings - brothers, sisters, twins - and how they can be affected by the events of an Assassin's Creed story."

Assassin's Creed Netflix TV Series

Greyhound_sRGB_V120201022-3856-1d2pfm4.j

Back in October, streaming service and production company Netflix announced that they are developing a live-action Assassin's Creed series in partnership with Ubisoft.

The live-action series, along with an animated, and anime series based on the franchise (also in production) will establish an Assassin's Creed TV Universe.

In the new article with Eurogamer, Aymar Azaïzia stated that a couple of talents had been secured for the show so far, and that nothing more can be announced at this stage as they are taking their time to develop the series.

Azaïzia also went on to say that he believes that TV suits the series better than a movie, as AC deals with multiple timelines, Assassins, Templars, Isu and more.

Assassin's Creed Anime Series

Not much is known about the anime Assassin's Creed series, but Adi Shankar (Castlevania) first revealed his involvement in 2017!

Many have no doubt forgotten about the project or simply assumed it had been cancelled, but Aymar Azaïzia revealed in his interview with Eurogamer that the series is in fact still in development!

"It's still active - it's the guys who brought us the Raving Rabbids TV show which have also announced the Far Cry animated series. Those guys are really focusing on that. It's not the next project which is coming up in their pipeline but it's still in their hands. It hasn't been canned."

Assassin's Creed Mr Men Books

Mr.png

Three Assassin's Creed Mr Men books were listed by Amazon Fr, and spotted by the eagle-eyed admins over at Access the Animus fan community

Dedicated to Ezio, Kassandra, and Eivor, the books will release in French on May 19th, 2021

The books are part of the much loved Mr Men and Little Miss franchise by the late Roger Hargreaves, and will be published by Hachette Heroes, who also produced the Assassin's Creed Official Collection series.

"Assassin's Creed: Where's the Assassin?" is a hardcover "Where's Wally" style puzzle book that releases 7th September 2021.

"Do you have the eagle eyes necessary to make it in the enigmatic Brotherhood of Assassins? This classic search and find book will allow gamers to interact with their favourite characters in a new way!

With beautiful, intricate, original illustrations spanning over 2000 years of history, search for 13 iconic assassins through the ages and across the world."

After the reveal, the title of the book was unfortunately mocked for stating a question that players have recently been asking, as for some the series is losing its identity due to the lack of playable Assassins.

The book however will no doubt be a ton of fun, and it's now available for pre-order via Forbidden Planet or Amazon
